Mozilla has announced that it will continue to support its Firefox browser on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 until at least September 2025, as reported by Windows Report. Firefox 115 ESR will continue to support certain operating systems until September 2024.

Windows 7 users can still access Firefox on the operating system for 6 more months, and Mozilla might extend it once again then.

Last September, Mozilla announced that it would extend support for Firefox on older Windows operating systems until March of this year. Now, the company has updated its release calendar, which now says that Firefox Old ESR (Extended Support Release) will continue for another six months — at least up to August 19, 2025.

Mozilla extends Firefox support for Windows 7 and 8.1 ESR branch until September 2025. New Firefox features will not be offered on unsupported operating systems like Windows 7 and 8.1. Users are advised to upgrade to a supported Windows version like Windows 11 for a more secure experience.
