Cone collection season is officially here! Last month, CAL FIRE cone collectors headed to Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest to collect sugar pinecones. In total, 96 bushels of cones were collected and then transported back to CAL FIRE’s L.A. Moran Reforestation Center for processing and storage. In 2015, over 90 percent of Boggs was burned in the Valley Fire. These collected cones will be utilized in ongoing reforestation projects in the footprint of the fire. Follow the link below to le
