Was going to post this yesterday but cell towers went down. This is a video I took inside the eye of Hurricane #Ida. Light breeze during this video would change over to dead calm shortly after. Had a few peaks of sunshine come through and a few very brief glimpses of the "stadium affect" where you can see the outer rings of the hurricanes eye wall | Ohio Storm Chasers

On Sunday, Ida went through a period of what we call Rapid Intensification, where the storm deepens and gets stronger in a short amount of time. One key we look at when hurricanes go through that pahse is lightning in the eyewall. Check out this satellite on Sunday just before landfall and you can pick out all the lightning strikes.
