In March 1968 Jimi Hendrix was residing at The Drake Hotel in New York City. It was during this time that Jimi was preparing songs for potential inclusion on the forthcoming ELECTRIC LADYLAND album. Using his TEAC reel-to-reel recorder, he captured a number of acoustic demos, including this one titled "My Friend."
