In 1790 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played a prank on opera singer Adriana Ferrarese del Bene. Known for lowering her chin on low notes and tilting her head back on high notes, Mozart composed her aria in Cosi fan tutte with dramatic jumps between extremes. The piece forced her head to bob wildly throughout the performance.
