According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) a correctional officer by the name of Shawn Wilder barricaded himself in a building on the north side of the prison. Staff were evacuated to a safe area as a crisis response team established communication with him. Wilder was convinced to discard his weapon and surrender just after 6:30 Saturday morning. He was taken into custody at the kern county jail. The incident is still under investigation. #wasco #prison #cdcr
