The FDNY Special Operations Command Task Force (SOC-TF) conducted a full scale exercise last week, which simulated a terrorist event in a dual tunnel used for vehicles and trains, and an explosion on a commercial passenger ship. When fully activated and deployed, the SOC Task Force is modeled after an 80 member FEMA Type I Urban Search and Rescue Task Force. Today, FDNY Chief of EMS Operations Lillian Bonsignore is retiring after over three decades serving the citizens of the City of New York. Chief Bonsignore was appointed as a New York City EMT in 1991 and initially assigned to EMS Station 14 at Lincoln Hospital in the South Bronx.
