In this video, the child is completing targeted exercises to support integration of a retained 🌟 STNR 🌟(Symmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex). STNR is a primitive reflex that normally integrates as a child develops - but when it remains active beyond the expected age, it can interfere with functional skills and body control. The STNR helps the infant coordinate upper and lower body movements during crawling. As the central nervous system matures, STNR should integrate to allow for independent control

Integrating the STNR reflex: First watch my reflex highlights at the top of my page and start with integrating the TLR reflex. ~ The STNR reflex helps your infant learn to move the top half and the bottom half of their body independently from each other. The symmetrical tonic neck reflex is commonly referred to as the “crawling reflex” because it allows your baby to make the transition from lying down to getting up on their hands and knees. ~ The integration of the STNR is reliant on the head po

It’s all because of a retained reflex called the STNR - symmetrical tonic neck reflex. It’s a reflex that splits the body in half from top and bottom, and it helps to allow babies to learn to crawl forward. When it doesn’t integrate, or mature, that leaves the person’s body movements at the mercy of what their head, neck, and eyes are doing. It’s extremely exhausting! It can be 10 times harder for people with this reflex retained to copy from the board, sit properly in a chair, ride a bike, etc.

Did your child skip crawling and go straight to scooting? That could be a reason they’re struggling to read. Crawling helps wire the brain for left and right coordination. If a reflex called ATNR doesn’t go away, it can block crawling and later affect eye tracking. This causes skips and jumps while reading side to side. We see this all the time in kids with learning challenges who never crawled properly. Early movement builds the foundation for later learning. Follow and Comment “FREE” below and
